The Upper Valley Fiber Fest came about three years ago when a group of fiber enthusiasts decided that the Miami Valley area needed a spring show. After much brainstorming, and with the help of the Upper Valley Fiber Guild, the Upper Valley Fiber Fest was born. The first year exceeded our wildest dreams. The second year was even bigger and now we have expanded into two days. We have also become a separate organization and hope to be around for years to come!Our 2010 raffle prize is a contemporary quilted wall hanging. The "Sentinel" is 20" x 27.5" and is designed by Lisa Hoblit of Laura, OH. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5 and will be available at the information table.May 15 - 9 am to 5 pm,May 16 11 am to 4 pm.

Since its founding in 1983 by Michael Levine, the Dallas Brass has become one of America 's foremost musical ensembles. The group has established a unique blend of traditional brass instruments with a full complement of drums and percussion, which creates a performing entity of extraordinary range and musical challenges. The Dallas Brass repertoire includes classical masterpieces, Dixieland, swing, Broadway, Hollywood and patriotic music. According to Mr. Levine, "A Dallas Brass concert is intended for the entire family. Our ideal audience has a range in ages from 5 to 95. Our goal is to entertain and enrich by playing great music, while showing our audience how much we enjoy what we do." This performance will include and unprecedented educational component. Sidney and Shelby County high and middle school music students will be invited to spend the afternoon with Dallas Brass musicians in rehearsals and clinics. They will then take the stage to perform with the Dallas Brass during the evening performance.

From there guests will visit each room of the home to view the holidays decorations with an Irish twist. The Johnston Farm Mummers will present Irish entertainment and the evening concludes with dessert by the fireplace in the winter kitchen with Johnston's mother, Elizabeth, who shares stories of her life as a single mother in Pennsylvania and Ohio.
